Following the meeting, the league released an official statement confirming that discussions will continue with stakeholders over the coming weeks and months.<\/p>\n

“Today’s meeting covered a wide range of topics, including ongoing discussions on transgender athletes and the continued hate and vitriol directed at players online. We will continue to engage all league stakeholders in the coming weeks and months.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The WNBA emphasized that these conversations will be handled thoughtfully and in accordance with the league’s values. The statement also clarified that there are currently no immediate transgender eligibility matters affecting the WNBA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The league also issued a strong condemnation of attempts to exploit the issue.<\/p>\n
