The former captain of Bayern\u2019s 2018 double-winning team has signed a three-year contract.<\/p>\n<p>Gavel joins from <strong>Bamberg<\/strong>, where he won the 2026 German Cup and was voted <strong>BBL Coach of the Year<\/strong>. He had previously led Ulm to the German league title in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>As a player, Gavel spent four seasons with Bayern from 2014 to 2018, winning the German championship in his final year in Munich. Over his playing career, he won five German league titles and four German Cups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thank Mr. Hainer and the entire Bayern organization for their trust.
