When the dust settled, Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus had finished atop the EuroLeague regular season scoring charts, claiming the 2025-26 Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy with an average of 19.4 points per game. Vezenkov scored 661 points in 34 games for a league-best 19.4 PPG.

The Alphonso Ford Trophy is the only postseason award based solely on statistics. Vezenkov overtook last season’s winner Kendrick Nunn of Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens and Nadir Hifi of Paris Basketball – who had led the race for much of the season – in the second half of the campaign to claim top spot. Nunn finished second with 19.0 PPG, Hifi third with 18.9 PPG, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot of Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz fourth with 18.2 PPG, and Carsen Edwards of Virtus Bologna fifth with 17.3 PPG.

Vezenkov was a relentless scorer with no nights off, and that consistency made the difference. He reached double figures in 33 of 34 games, scoring 20 or more on 19 occasions. His best stretch came between Rounds 19 and 23, when he put up 24 points or more in five consecutive games. Vezenkov came close to a 50-40-90 regular season, shooting 62.5% on two-pointers, 39.6% from beyond the arc and 89.2% from the free-throw line. He posted a season-high 29 points in Round 13 against Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade.

The Olympiacos star is the fourth player to win the award multiple times, joining an exclusive group. Igor Rakocevic won it twice with Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in 2007 and 2008, then claimed a third with Anadolu Efes Istanbul in 2011. Keith Langford won first with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in 2014 and then with UNICS Kazan in 2017. Alexey Shved won with Khimki Moscow Region in 2018 and 2021.

Vezenkov previously claimed the trophy in the 2022-23 season (17.6 PPG), a campaign in which he was also named the competition’s MVP. He has earned a place on the All-EuroLeague First Team three times (2021-22, 2022-23, 2024-25), was the 2025 EuroLeague Playoffs MVP, and has won the MVP of the Month award five times, including once this season in January 2026.

The award is named after Alphonso Ford, who died of leukemia in September 2004 following a brilliant career in which he led the competition in scoring twice – in 2000-01 and 2001-02, both with Olympiacos – before leading Montepaschi Siena in scoring as it reached the 2003 Final Four. Ford holds the EuroLeague all-time best scoring average with 22.2 points per game across 54 career games.

The other Alphonso Ford Trophy winners are Nunn (2025), Markus Howard with Baskonia (2024), Vezenkov with Olympiacos (2023), Vasilije Micic with Efes (2022), Mike James with Milan (2019), Nando De Colo with CSKA Moscow (2016), Taylor Rochestie with Nizhny Novgorod (2015), Bobby Brown (2013) and Bo McCalebb (2012), both with Montepaschi Siena, Linas Kleiza with Olympiacos (2010), Marc Salyers with Chorale Roanne (2008), Drew Nicholas with Benetton Treviso (2006), and Charles Smith with Scavolini Pesaro in the award’s inaugural season, 2005.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[199
[15727

post-493357","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-euroleague","typology-press-release-en
https://sportando.basketball/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/04/ff26075e-df5a-4fda-a4ad-189cba6d758b.webp
["GET
