“I was there and saw the ambulance block a car on the avenue in front of the Regional Government building, right on the crosswalk.” This is how the article in *Il Carlino* begins, revealing the background of the “Vildoza case.”

A recap: Virtus Bologna’s point guard Luca Vildoza was arrested on October 15 along with his wife in Bologna on charges of assault. The investigating judge did not uphold the decision, and the prosecutor recently requested that the case be dismissed.

Among the key points is a “key witness” who recounted what they saw on social media. We read: “The witness reports that that evening, after ‘the ambulance blocked Vildoza’s car,’ three women and a man got out, ‘all dressed in red,’ who ‘were screaming and trying to pull a man sitting inside the car—clinging to the steering wheel—out of the vehicle, using shoves and slaps.’ Only then “did the female passenger get out of the car to intervene.”

At that point, when both occupants of the car had gotten out, “the four paramedics began shouting that they would call the police” and that they would get him “into trouble,” in addition to a “barrage of insults and threats.” A few minutes later, a Carabinieri car arrived, followed by two police cars.”
