For the third consecutive season, the Greek Cup Final will feature the ultimate showdown: Olympiacos Piraeus vs. Panathinaikos Aktor Athens. While the rivalry itself is enough to grab headlines, the focus has shifted to a dramatic medical update regarding Olympiacos’ frontline.

Initially, the “Reds” were projected to fight for the trophy without their star center, Nikola Milutinov. After fracturing his thumb earlier in the tournament, the Serbian big man was widely expected to sidelined. However, in a surprising turn of events, Milutinov is now trending toward playing in tonight’s final.

As reported by Achilleas Mavrodontis of Gazzetta.gr, Olympiacos’ medical team has performed a “minor miracle” by crafting a customized splint. This device is designed to stabilize the painful fractured area while still allowing for the slight movement necessary to handle the ball and battle in the paint.

Fortunately for Olympiacos, the fracture is located in the upper part of the thumb. This specific injury site makes a quick return via specialized equipment much more feasible than a standard fracture. His presence on the court would provide a massive emotional and tactical boost for the defending champions as they face their fiercest rivals.
