Lillard has now secured his <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"278\">third 3-Point Contest title<\/b> in the last four years.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">His path to the trophy started almost by accident. While discussing All-Star break vacation plans with Michael Levine (NBA Senior VP), Lillard issued a casual challenge: <i data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"170\">&#8220;If y&#8217;all need someone to shoot, I\u2019m available.&#8221;<\/i> What began as a joke turned into reality when a spot opened up in the bracket.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">The competition was fierce from start to finish:<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\">Devin Booker led the pack with a blistering 30 points. Lillard and rookie Kon Knueppel advanced with 27.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\">The Hornets rookie stalled at 17 points, leaving the door wide open. Lillard took advantage, putting on a clinic to finish with <b data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"139\">29<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,2,0\">\u00a0Booker, shooting last, reached his final &#8220;money ball&#8221; rack with 27 points. However, he missed his last three triples, handing the trophy back to the Blazers star.&#8221;I came in confident and fresh,&#8221; Lillard stated after the win. &#8220;This year away from the court has refreshed my mind and body.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\">With this victory, Lillard enters one of the most exclusive clubs in basketball history. He is now only the <b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"108\">third player ever<\/b> to win the event three times, joining the ranks of legends <b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"185\">Larry Bird<\/b> and <b data-path-to-node=\"11\" data-index-in-node=\"200\">Craig Hodges<\/b>.
