Udoka described it as a \u201cseverely sprained ankle,\u201d noting it could be \u201cGrade 3 or so,\u201d and added he doesn\u2019t expect Adams back anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2075\" data-end=\"2387\">Adams suffered the injury Sunday in a win over the <strong data-start=\"2126\" data-end=\"2150\">New Orleans Pelicans<\/strong> while contesting a play at the rim involving <strong data-start=\"2196\" data-end=\"2215\">Zion Williamson<\/strong>, grabbing his left ankle immediately after landing. Udoka said there was \u201ca lot of swelling already,\u201d but \u201cnothing\u2019s broken,\u201d and confirmed it\u2019s not a high ankle sprain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2389\" data-end=\"2712\">The 32-year-old is averaging 5.8 points and 8.6 rebounds in 22.8 minutes for a Rockets team that leads the NBA in rebounding (49.2 per game). With Adams sidelined, <strong data-start=\"2553\" data-end=\"2569\">Clint Capela<\/strong> becomes the primary backup behind <strong data-start=\"2604\" data-end=\"2622\">Alperen Sengun<\/strong>, and Houston is also expected to use <strong data-start=\"2660\" data-end=\"2680\">Jabari Smith Jr.<\/strong> at center in certain lineups.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2714\" data-end=\"2841\">Forward <strong data-start=\"2722\" data-end=\"2736\">Tari Eason<\/strong> returned Tuesday, posting two points in 20 minutes after missing five games with a right ankle sprain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ime Udoka calls it a \u201csevere\u201d sprain, possibly Grade 3: no fracture and not a high ankle sprain.
