They are open for business,\u201d Stein explained, while also acknowledging the emotional toll the situation may be taking on the players. \u201cI\u2019m sure it\u2019s not fun for the guys on this team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"1122\">Stein noted that nearly <strong data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"841\">11 months have passed since the Luka Don\u010di\u0107 trade<\/strong>, a stretch that has been particularly challenging for the organization. Dallas currently sits at <strong data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"948\">12\u201323<\/strong>, and aside from the emergence of <strong data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1023\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Cooper Flagg<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, who is widely viewed as a strong Rookie of the Year candidate, little has gone according to plan.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1124\" data-end=\"1267\">\u201cIt\u2019s been a very rough 11 months,\u201d Stein said. \u201cEverybody around the league knows it, understands it, and yeah \u2014 everyone wants to talk Mavs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1269\" data-end=\"1437\">Stein emphasized that Dallas\u2019 front office approach is now crystal clear: every decision must be evaluated through the lens of Flagg\u2019s development and long-term future.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1725\">\u201cThis is about building around Cooper Flagg,\u201d Stein added. \u201cEvery move this team makes has to be looked at through the prism of \u2018does this help Cooper Flagg? Is this in the best interest of Cooper Flagg\u2019s future?\u2019 That\u2019s how every call coming in \u2014 and going out \u2014 has to be
