{"id":439273,"date":"2025-04-24T15:27:16","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T13:27:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/?p=439273"},"modified":"2025-04-24T15:27:16","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T13:27:16","slug":"bcl-final-four-lineup-completed-host-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/en\/bcl-final-four-lineup-completed-host-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"BCL Final Four lineup completed, host announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Basketball Champions League Final Four, powered by SUNEL competitors have been confirmed, following the completion of the last Quarter-Finals game on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Four (4) clubs have qualified for the next phase of the competition, with three (3) countries and leagues represented.<\/p>\n<p>Those teams are (alphabetically): <b>AEK Betsson BC <\/b>(Greece), <b>Galatasaray <\/b>(T\u00fcrkiye), <b>La Laguna Tenerife <\/b>(Spain), and <b>Unicaja <\/b>(Spain).<\/p>\n<p>It is the most prestigious Final Four lineup to date, as all four participants have won major continental events over the past decade.<\/p>\n<p>Galatasaray are\u00a0vying for their first BCL title, while the other three participants have already lifted the BCL trophy.<\/p>\n<p>The top eight teams from the Round of 16 played the best-of-three series in the Quarter-Finals, with three matchups finishing 2-0, and one going to Game 3:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"_1pmct9j0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.championsleague.basketball\/en\/teams\/la-laguna-tenerife\" target=\"_self\">La Laguna Tenerife<\/a><b> <\/b>vs. Bertram Derthona Basket <b>2-0<\/b> (93-89 OT; 77-64)<\/li>\n<li>ERA Nymburk vs. <a class=\"_1pmct9j0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.championsleague.basketball\/en\/teams\/galatasaray\" target=\"_self\">Galatasaray<\/a><b> 0-2<\/b> (80-106; 74-90)<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"_1pmct9j0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.championsleague.basketball\/en\/teams\/aek-betsson-bc\" target=\"_self\">AEK Betsson BC<\/a><b> <\/b>vs. Nanterre 92 <b>2-1 <\/b>(76-69; 70-82; 104-69)<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"_1pmct9j0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.championsleague.basketball\/en\/teams\/unicaja\" target=\"_self\">Unicaja<\/a> vs. Pallacanestro Reggiana <b>2-0 <\/b>(105-68; 82-72)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La Laguna Tenerife extended their record to six Basketball Champions League Semi-Finals, and they could potentially become the first team to win the BCL three times, after reaching the throne in 2017 and 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Galatasaray made the BCL Final Four for the first time in their five seasons in this competition, becoming the third Turkish team to reach the Semi-Finals, following Banvit in 2017, and Karsiyaka in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>AEK Betsson BC will be back in the Semi-Finals for the third time, having won the BCL in 2018, and finishing runner-up in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Unicaja are the defending champions, and this will be their third BCL Final Four in a row. With a potential to win the trophy again, Unicaja could join Hereda San Pablo Burgos as the only other back-to-back champions (2020, 2021).<\/p>\n<p>The event will take place at the SUNEL Arena in Athens, Greece. The hosts AEK Betsson BC announced a deal with the SUNEL Group as a naming partner for the tournament, making it the BCL Final Four, powered by SUNEL.<\/p>\n<p>The SUNEL Group was founded in 2006 by Greek stakeholders, and has been rapidly expanding, establishing itself as a globally recognized EPC Contractor and Developer for solar projects.<\/p>\n<p>The Semi-Finals will be played on Friday, May 9, the pairings are as follows:<\/p>\n<div data-contentful-field-id=\"picture\" data-contentful-entry-id=\"3WW02Ju44sVADOme2JnOrx\">\n<div class=\"zbwjxl3 zbwjxl5\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"_1dz8zx01 _1dz8zx02\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.fiba.basketball\/image\/upload\/w_700,c_fill\/q_auto\/f_auto\/v1744832883\/dbfzczfwumirhvfpj9e2\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.fiba.basketball\/image\/upload\/w_700,c_fill\/q_auto\/f_auto\/v1744832883\/dbfzczfwumirhvfpj9e2 1x, https:\/\/assets.fiba.basketball\/image\/upload\/w_1400,c_fill\/q_auto\/f_auto\/v1744832883\/dbfzczfwumirhvfpj9e2 2x, https:\/\/assets.fiba.basketball\/image\/upload\/w_2100,c_fill\/q_auto\/f_auto\/v1744832883\/dbfzczfwumirhvfpj9e2 3x\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<div class=\"zbwjxl3 zbwjxl5\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>La Laguna Tenerife vs. Galatasaray<\/li>\n<li>AEK Betsson BC vs. Unicaja<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The two winners will then move to the Final, while the defeated teams play the Third Place Game, both on Sunday, May 11.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the third time Athens hosts the season ending tournament.
