Trevion Williams is a valuable addition, having been sought after by several top clubs across Europe, but expectations remain low.

Gabriele Procida and Matteo Spagnolo are the future of Italian basketball, and their presence is a strong choice for development, but it’s hard to imagine them making a difference in such a demanding competition, even though Procida is a Rising Star talent.

The German team finished last season with a record of 5 wins and 29 losses, and the outlook for improvement seems minimal. While there may be some improvement thanks to continuity in their project, ALBA will need to fight hard not to finish last.

Coach – Israel Gonzalez (confermato)

PG – Hermansson (confermato), Spagnolo (confermato)

G – McDowell-White (NBL), Delow (confermato), Mattiseck (confermato)

SF – Thomas (confermato), Procida (confermato), Olinde (confermato)

PF – Weztell (confermato), Schneider (confermato), Bean (confermato)

C – Williams (Ulm), Koumadje (confermato)

17 – Paris Basketball

Making their EuroLeague debut, Paris Basketball faces a daunting challenge. The team won the EuroCup, but their lack of experience in Europe’s top competition will be a major hurdle.

T.J. Shorts, MVP of the last EuroCup (and essentially of every competition he has played in), is certainly one of the most anticipated players in EuroLeague. Nadir Hifi, who also showed potential in the Summer League, pairs with Shorts to form an intriguing backcourt. Let’s not forget Ward, another sought-after talent in Europe.

Coach Tiago Splitter, in his first experience at this level, has much to prove. Kevarrius Hayes is the only true interior presence, leaving the team vulnerable against more structured squads.

Daulton Hommes, who rebuilt himself in Italy after injury at Baskonia, will also be interesting to watch. Paris may excite fans with their dynamic play, but it’s unlikely they will compete for a high ranking.

Coach – Thiago Splitter (nuovo)

PG – Shorts (confermato), Lo (Milano)

G – Hifi (confermato), Herrera (confermato), Ouattara (Monaco)

SF – Ward (confermato), Malcolm (confermato)

PF – Hommes (Trento), Sy (confermato), Jantunen (confermato), Cavaliere (Strasburgo)

C – Hayes (Zalgiris), Kratzer (confermato), Kessen (confermato), Shahrvin (confermato)

16 – ASVEL

ASVEL continues to struggle to emerge in EuroLeague, and there are no signs that this season will be much different, especially considering their domestic struggles in France.

Nando De Colo remains a reliable leader, but the roster around him seems to lack the quality necessary to compete with the top teams. Joffrey Lauvergne and Paris Lee are other key names, with Lee still being a defensive standout in the competition.

Keep an eye on Shaquille Harrison, who was close to signing with Olimpia Milano last winter, but the rotation still seems thin for such a challenging competition.

The mix of young and veteran players has never truly found chemistry, and it seems unlikely that ASVEL will rise from the bottom of the standings.

Coach – Pierric Poupet (confermato)

PG – Maledon (Charlotte Hornets) Lee (confermato), De Colo (confermato)

G – Harrison (G-League), Jackson (confermato)

SF – Kahudi (confermato), Lighty (confermato), Ajinca (Limoges)

PF – Schofield (G-League)

C – Black (Reggiana), Sako (Cholet), Ndiaye (confermato), Lauvergne (confermato)

15 – Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich has changed head coach, appointing Gordie Herbert, and the abrupt end to the “Laso project” raised quite a few eyebrows. That said, the club is ambitious, with a new arena and a prestigious brand—second only to Real Madrid.

Shabazz Napier will be the team’s offensive engine, and if he finds consistency, Bayern could surprise, especially since he’s already been involved in their preparations.

However, the roster lacks impactful frontcourt players, with Booker and Brankovic needing to step up. Vladimir Lucic remains a key player, but his ongoing injury issues are a concern.

Coach – Gordon Herbert (nuovo)

PG – Edwards (confermato), Weiler-Babb (confermato), Madar (Fenerbahce)

G – Obst (confermato)

SF – Lucic (confermato), Giffey (confermato)

PF – Yebo (Chemnitz), Da Silva (Barcellona), Voigtmann (Milano)

C – Booker (confermato), Brankovic (confermato), Harris (confermato)

14 – Crvena Zvezda

Crvena Zvezda has heavily invested to upgrade their roster, bringing in players like Nikola Kalinic, Codi Miller-McIntyre, and Isaiah Canaan. Coach Sfairopoulos has asked for patience, but expectations remain high, as the team seems more balanced compared to last season.

The backcourt is undoubtedly their strong suit, with Teodosic orchestrating the offense and McIntyre providing structure. However, the frontcourt remains uncertain, especially with Petrusev not arriving.

Mike Daum’s EuroLeague impact is yet to be seen, and while Mitrovic and Bolomboy are solid, they cannot carry the load alone throughout the season.

Coach – Ioannis Sfairopoulos (confermato)

PG – Miller-McIntyre (Baskonia), Dos Santos (confermato), Teodosic (confermato)

G – Canaan (Olympiacos), Lazic (confermato), Nedovic (confermato), Topic (confermato)

SF – Kalinic (Barcellona), Dobric (Virtus Bologna), Giedraitis (confermato), Lazarevic (confermato)

PF – Daum (Efes), Davidovac (confermato), Mitrovic (confermato), Ilic (confermato)

C – Plavsic (Mega), Bolomboy (confermato)

13 – Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi faces one of its toughest seasons in recent years, with a nearly overhauled roster. The departures of Wade Baldwin, Lorenzo Brown, and Bonzie Colson have left a huge gap, and while the additions of Jordan Loyd and Wenyen Gabriel (injured) are respectable, they do not completely fill it.

Oded Kattash, who worked wonders last season, now faces the difficult task of rebuilding the team and maintaining cohesion in a challenging environment.

Logistical difficulties, compounded by geopolitical issues, will make Maccabi’s path even more difficult. After falling short in the Lithuanian finals, the club has invested in the roster, resulting in an intriguing lineup.

The team has added interesting players like Wallace and Sirvydis, with Francisco (after an up-and-down stint at Bayern) also expected to play a key role. Brazdeikis returning is another huge boost.

The home-court advantage at Zalgirio Arena remains their secret weapon. Markus Howard will once again be the offensive leader, and the relatively small roster could work in Europe as it did last year, even if the ACB presents greater challenges.

The structure is interesting. Marinkovic has departed, but players like Rogkavopoulos and especially Sedekerskis are on an upward trajectory, while the frontcourt is solid with reliable players like Diop, Moneke, and Hall from Monaco.

TLC (Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot) might thrive in a setting that has historically helped players make a name for themselves, though there are some doubts in the backcourt.

Coach – Pablo Laso (Bayern)

PG – Baldwin (Trento), Forrest (Atlanta Hawks)

G – Howard (confermato), Savkov (giovanili)

SF – Luwawu-Cabarrot (Asvel), Sedekerskis (confermato), Rogkavopoulos (confermato), Ndiaye (giovanili)

PF – Raieste (confermato), Moneke (confermato)

C – Diop (confermato), Hall (Monaco)

10 – Virtus Bologna

Virtus Bologna showed great promise in the first half of last season but lacked consistency when it mattered most. The addition of Clyburn and Tucker adds offensive firepower, but the main concerns lie in the frontcourt.

Zizic needs to be defensively solid, which he has not been so far, or else Virtus could struggle against more physical teams. Cacok’s absence also hurts the rotation. Finding synergy between Morgan, highly anticipated in EuroLeague, and veterans like Belinelli, Hackett, and Pajola will be crucial.

Luca Banchi has a roster with potential, especially with a versatile group of guards. Shields is poised for a career-defining season, especially if Milano hopes to make the playoffs after two failed attempts.

Ettore Messina has a talented squad, but the development of two point guards will be key. Bolmaro is facing the most important challenge of his career, as is Dimitrijevic. The Macedonian guard has shown flashes of brilliance, but he is still a EuroLeague rookie. And in this role, Milano has struggled over the past two years, with many falling short.

The frontcourt rotation looks strong, even with Melli’s absence, with the impactful duo of McCormack-Nebo and the reliability of LeDay.
