Matt Mitchell, an American who recently played for Besiktas Istanbul, will join the team on a 1+1 contract.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old, 199 cm tall forward spent last season in Turkey competing in the EuroCup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad to have the opportunity to come to Zalgiris. I chose to come here to get better under Andrea Trinchieri and his coaching staff. The goal is to win Championships and add trophies to Zalgiris collection,\u201d said Mitchell.<\/p>\n<p>The versatile player averaged 12.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists in the EuroCup last season.<\/p>\n<p>In the Turkish league, Mitchell averaged 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2 assists per game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the EuroCup, he was one of the most interesting players in his position and he has been on our radar for a while.
