On the day of the announcement of the 16 players called up for the Folgaria training camp, Italbasket’s head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco confirmed the forced exclusion of Darius Thompson from the national team’s summer activities.<\/p>\n
“Darius Thompson will not be participating in the National Team’s activities this summer. The procedures to obtain his Italian passport are not yet completed. At the end of the month, Thompson will also become a father and therefore would not have been available for the first part of the gathering anyway. Given the importance of the upcoming task, it’s crucial for me, my staff, and the players to work from day one with the certainty of having everyone fully available for the World Cup,” he stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
