{"id":293615,"date":"2022-09-12T14:55:22","date_gmt":"2022-09-12T12:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/?p=293615"},"modified":"2022-09-12T14:55:22","modified_gmt":"2022-09-12T12:55:22","slug":"stephen-curry-says-warriors-considered-idea-of-a-blockbuster-trade-to-bring-kevin-durant-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/en\/stephen-curry-says-warriors-considered-idea-of-a-blockbuster-trade-to-bring-kevin-durant-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Stephen Curry says Warriors considered idea of a blockbuster trade to bring Kevin Durant back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stephen Curry confirmed that the Golden State Warriors had some internal talks about a return of Kevin Durant.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Durant requested trade from the Nets early in the offseason but <a href=\"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/en\/kevin-durant-removes-trade-request-remains-with-nets\/\">after a few weeks he decided to remain with the goal of winning the NBA championship with Brooklyn.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/culture-features\/stephen-curry-kevin-durant-politics-activism-rolling-stone-cover-preview-1234589722\/\">Rolling Stones<\/a>, As Curry told\u00a0<em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u00a0on Aug. 9, three days after Durant\u2019s reported ultimatum to the Nets\u2019 ownership: \u201cThere was a conversation internally amongst us about \u2018If he was available, would you?\u2019 Every team has those conversations, and obviously in our situation, they\u2019re gonna call me and ask me, \u2018How do you feel about it?\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\u201cI was never hesitant. The idea of playing with KD and knowing who he is as a person, from our history in those three years, I think KD\u2019s a really good dude. I think he is misunderstood. I think he has had certain things happen in his life that hurt his ability to trust people around him, in a sense of making him feel safe at all times. So all of those things, I understand, having played with him and gotten to know him. I\u00a0<em>love<\/em>\u00a0that dude.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd if you said, \u2018Oh, KD\u2019s coming back, and we\u2019re gonna play with him,\u2019 I had so much fun playing with him those three years, I\u2019d be like, \u2018Hell, yeah!\u2019 Then you have to think: What does that actually mean? What does it look like? You tell me I\u2019m playing with [current Warriors teammates Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, and Draymond Green], I\u2019m like, \u2018Hell, yeah!\u2019 There\u2019s all types of emotion and things that happen to the league. And if anybody\u2019s saying that you wouldn\u2019t entertain that conversation \u2014 no disrespect to anybody on our team \u2014 but you don\u2019t know how things work. But you also understand, like, if we run this thing back, I\u2019ve got complete confidence in my team that we can win it again, as constructed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, all those things were true. And it started with me wanting to play with KD at the beginning. Yeah, it\u2019s about winning, it\u2019s about having fun, playing the game of\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_basketball\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/basketball\/\" data-tag=\"basketball\">basketball<\/a>.
