{"id":271226,"date":"2022-04-14T15:35:36","date_gmt":"2022-04-14T13:35:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/?p=271226"},"modified":"2022-04-14T15:35:36","modified_gmt":"2022-04-14T13:35:36","slug":"granger-and-fontecchio-spreading-joy-with-one-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/en\/granger-and-fontecchio-spreading-joy-with-one-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Granger and Fontecchio spreading joy with One Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz stars Jayson Granger and Simone Fontecchio have been spreading some joy by spending time with the Spanish club\u2019s One Team participants.<\/p>\n<p>The players, who are Baskonia\u2019s Ambassadors for the social responsibility program, surprised the girls and boys on the program by making a guest appearance at last week\u2019s session at the Aldabe Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>Baskonia\u2019s One Team program is running throughout the season, working with the Gizarterako Association \u2013 the club\u2019s social integration partner since 2013 \u2013 to deliver weekly sessions between October and May for a group of 16 children aged between 5 and 12 years old. The main topics they have worked on are respect, teamwork, efforts and motivation \u2013 using examples from basketball to learn these important day to day life skills.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Granger y Fontecchio visitan a los ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as de One Team\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GQWawhbJiNg?start=1&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The children greatly enjoyed spending time with Granger and Fontecchio, who said: \u201cI had never been a One Team Ambassador before but I knew about the project and that it\u2019s very important for the boys and girls. It was a pleasure to spend time with them and show them the values of basketball on and off the court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Granger added: \u201cThe experience is really nice, being able to see these children smiling and learning with basketball. It is very fulfilling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One Team, supported by Turkish Airlines as the One Team Founding Patron and with the collaboration of Special Olympics as Proud Partner, uses basketball to achieve real social impact in our communities.<\/p>\n<p>With an innovative model of interconnectedness across an entire continent, Euroleague Basketball and its clubs have developed a complete CSR program that brings together activities from each team in an integrated, impactful way, working under the theme of \u2018community integration\u2019 that actively addresses targets of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 10 on Reduced Inequalities.<\/p>\n<p>Each participating club develops a specific One Team project tailored to its own community needs to benefit groups in danger of exclusion due to problems such as substance abuse and gender, physical or intellectual disability.
