Redick\u2019s \u201cThe Old Man and the Three\u201d podcast<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00abI really didn\u2019t hear much from any team \u2014 including the Lakers \u2014 leading up to [the start of free agency at] 6 p.m., and then they called, and the Lakers made their offer. It wasn\u2019t an offer I was going to accept because I was going to be able to get considerably more money from another team\u2026\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00abI got on the phone with [Bulls GM Art\u016bras Karni\u0161ovas] and with [head coach Billy Donovan], and the way they were just talking about how they wanted to play and how they saw me as a player, I thought they hit the nail on the head. I thought everything they said, I was like \u2018I think that\u2019s accurate, I think that\u2019s what I bring to the table, I think that\u2019s how I can help the team win, I think that\u2019s the direction this team wants to go.\u2019 I thought there was a need for the stuff that I had\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abEssentially we got that offer, went back to L.A., asked if they could do the same, they said \u2018no.\u2019 Asked for something else that was a little less, they said \u2018no.\u2019 So I said \u2018OK, if that\u2019s what it comes to, I\u2019m ready to go to Chicago and start the next chapter.\u2019 It\u2019s been great.
