With these words 76ers coach Doc Rivers commented on the criticism of Ben Simmons after Game 1 of the first round series against Washington. The former LSU ended the game with 6 points (0\/6 FT), but also with 15 rebounds, 15 assists and the usual good defense.<\/p>\n
In game 2 Simmons, taking advantage of the greater attention of the Wizards’ defense on Embiid and Harris – 67 points in two in game 1- scored 22 points (11\/15 from two), with 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals.<\/p>\n
In the post-game, the Australian player made it clear that his points arrived following the adjustments of the opposing defense, certainly not to respond to the criticisms of game 1.<\/p>\n
“I’m not trying to stick to anybody in Philly,” Simmons said<\/a>. “I thought it was pretty hard to get 15 assists and 15 rebounds in the NBA in the playoffs. I thought that was pretty impressive. And we won. What y’all want? You want to win? For me, I’m here to win and I’m doing what I need to do to help my team win, whatever it is. I’m not trying to prove anybody wrong or anything like that. I’m trying to do my job to win. I’m not surprised Doc said that because Doc knows the game. A lot of these people who are saying things haven’t played the game.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
