The 28-year-old Frenchman, 1.98m, arrives on a free transfer after agreeing to leave Fenerbahce in Istanbul.<\/p>\n<h2>A versatile point guard<\/h2>\n<p>Westermann is a tall point guard with a big reach,<span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">\u00a0the ability to lead the team and also to create chances for his team-mates. He also has very good scoring percentages, particularly with the triple, and is excellent at blocking off opponents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In his career he has played a total of 139 games in the Euroleague &#8211; Partizan (14), Limoges (20), Zalgiris (57), CSKA (17), Fenerbahce (31) &#8211; with an average of 6.6 points\u00a0<span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">per game and a 39% success rate from the outside the key, with the last two seasons above 45%.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Known to Saras<\/h2>\n<p>Westermann has played for Sarunas Jasikevicius before, in the 2016\/17 and 2018\/19 campaigns.\u00a0<span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">One of his best years in the Euroleague: 8.2 points, 5.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 25 minutes per game, came under Saras&#8217; watchful eye. After that great season he signed for CSKA Moscow (2017\/18), but the Russian adventure only lasted one season before he returned to Kaunas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the last season and a half, 2019\/20 and the start of 2020\/21, Westermann has played for Fenerbahce Beko in Istanbul.<\/p>\n<h2>Finally at Bar\u00e7a<\/h2>\n<p>In the summer of 2014 Bar\u00e7a had a preferential right over Westermann, but in the end the Frenchman didn&#8217;t join.\u00a0<span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">Now, almost seven years later, it&#8217;s become a reality.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>L\u00e9o Westermann will join Bar\u00e7a until June 30, 2022.
