{"id":168531,"date":"2020-08-26T16:25:50","date_gmt":"2020-08-26T14:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/?p=168531"},"modified":"2020-08-26T16:25:50","modified_gmt":"2020-08-26T14:25:50","slug":"plymouth-raiders-officially-signs-andrew-lawrence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportando.basketball\/en\/plymouth-raiders-officially-signs-andrew-lawrence\/","title":{"rendered":"Plymouth Raiders officially signs Andrew Lawrence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Team GB International and Olympian Andrew Lawrence has signed with Plymouth Raiders in a major signal of intent from the Devon club.<\/p>\n<p>Lawrence, who needs little introduction to UK basketball fans, has enjoyed a glittering career across European basketball at the highest levels in France, Spain and Italy.<\/p>\n<p>The 30 year old Point\/Shooting Guard joins Raiders after a spell last season in London and jis looking to make a big impact in the 20\/21 season.<\/p>\n<p>This news is expected to excite the city\u2019s basketball fans, who on his last visit against Plymouth in December 2019 led Royals to a 98\/90 victory at the Pavilions. However this coming season, fans will be able to cheer on Lawrence in the famous Raiders green.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew, from London said:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I am really looking forward to the opportunity of playing for a club with such a rich history and becoming a Raider. This is an exciting time for the franchise. I\u2019m glad to be a part of it and will hopefully help bring silverware to the city!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Raiders Director Ross Mackenzie:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndrew is a real statement signing for us and we are absolutely delighted to be able to bring his talents to Plymouth, beating off competition from across the Continent.
