But, with all due respect, an entire NBA team should NOT get tested for COVID-19 while there are critically ill patients waiting to be tested.<\/p>\n<p>Tests should not be for the wealthy, but for the sick. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7uQlL3zc7Z\">https:\/\/t.co\/7uQlL3zc7Z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mayor Bill de Blasio (@NYCMayor) <a href=\"\u201chttps:\/\/twitter.com\/NYCMayor\/status\/1240029424394829829?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\u201d\">March 17, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\u201chttps:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\u201d charset=\u201cutf-8\u201d><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Brooklyn Nets replied to de Blasio saying that they made the test through a private company.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-partner=\"tweetdeck\"><p>The Nets said in a statement that their players and staff were exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, prompting them to get tested. Full statement: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZChF35XlKT\">pic.twitter.com\/ZChF35XlKT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Malika Andrews (@malika_andrews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/malika_andrews\/status\/1240400301305323526?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 18, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/28923043\/nets-defend-testing-players-coronavirus-cite-use-private-lab\">Per ESPN<\/a>, President Donald Trump was asked Wednesday about asymptomatic professional athletes getting tests while others are waiting, and whether it was true that the well-connected go to the front of the line.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, you&#8217;d have to ask them that question,&#8221; Trump responded. &#8220;No, I wouldn&#8217;t say so, but perhaps that&#8217;s been the story of life. That does happen on occasion.
