Virtus Bologna announces 2-year deal with Ty-Shon Alexander
Former Suns guard lands in Italy
Virtus Basketball Bologna S.p.A. announces that it has reached a two-year agreement, with options, with Ty-Shon Leron Alexander.
The General Manager of the Vere Nere Paolo Ronci comments: "Ty-Shon Alexander is a young player with great prospects who has already gained experience in an important franchise like the Phoenix Suns. His arrival allows us to complete the roster with characteristics useful in the immediate future and at the same time with a perspective of future development of our team. It was a market operation in the Club’s plans, not dictated by the need to replace Mannion, also because Nico has, fortunately, no need to be replaced."
Ty-Shon Leron Alexander’s statement as a Virtus player: "I am looking forward to joining this group of great talent and great players. It is an honor for me to be part of Virtus Segafredo Bologna. I am ready to showcase my talent and experience special moments with my teammates, coach and fans."
A 191cm guard, Alexander was born in Charlotte on July 16, 1998.
He attended Creighton College from 2017 to 2020 surpassing 1000 points scored, ending his college experience with a 17 point average, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and being named to the All-Big East First Team. Last season Alexander signs a two-way contract with the Phoenix Suns and makes his NBA debut in December 2020 in the win against the Sacramento Kings. His season alternates between NBA and G-League: with the Canton Charge jersey he travels with an average of 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. He finished the 2020-2021 season wearing the Suns’ jersey at the NBA Finals in the series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Virtus Segafredo Bologna officially welcomes Ty-Shon Alexander to the big Black and White family.
