Trinchieri: We tried with all of our weapons, we need a win to get back on track

Bayern Munich coach Andrea Trinchieri talks after the home loss against Fenerbahce.

“Congrats to Fener. They played well. Very good defense and I believe that we tried with all of our weapons. We won the battle of the rebounds, we dished more assists, but we were not able to score in the paint and that was the key. And I believe that we are usually good attacking in the paint and this didn’t allow us to have rhythm on offense, so we forced a little bit. And I don’t blame the players, it was a night like this that we didn’t find the rhythm on offense, but again, Fenerbahce is a very good team and played a very solid game and the third quarter made the difference because all the other quarters, we were there. The third quarter cost us a little bit in the economy of the game. The situation is exactly the game as it was before the game. We need a win to get back on track. We have another opportunity and need to do a little bit better, for sure. But we didn’t have a lack of effort. We could have played a better game of offense, but the rest, we gave our maximum. And again, in 45 hours, we have to show up again and show the best face we have.”

The german team is sixth in the Euroleague standings with 19 wins in 32 games.
