Tokyo Olympic Committee evaluating event without fans in attendance
Another possibility could be to have only Japanese residents attending the Games this summer.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, scheduled to be held this summer, could go on without fans attending the events or with only Japanese residents in the attendance. TOCOG President Seiko Hashimoto has confirmed, in an interview with Kyodo News agency, that the Organising Committee is still considering the possibility of holding the Games’ events without fans in the attendance, while stating that the Committee is working towards enhancing the number of COVID tests available to all athletes.
Further informations could arrive this week according to different rumors, especially after today’s vote that confirmed Thomas Bach at the helm of the IOC for the next four years.
