Serbia wrapped up their preparation for the World Championships with an 89:85 victory over Brazil in China despite the absence of Bogdan Bogdanović and Nikola Milutinov.
Serbia’s coach, Svetislav Pešić, commented after the match: “We needed a game like this against a quality opponent like Brazil. I want to praise the team spirit and the players’ fighting spirit.”
The reason for Bogdanović’s and Milutinov’s absence, according to Pešić, was the decision to rest these players. “Bogdanović and Milutinov played more than others in the previous matches. They trained normally, and now the other players have had more chances to show their worth,” the coach explained.
Serbia is now heading to the Philippines, where they will play in Group B against China, Puerto Rico, and South Sudan. The first game is scheduled for Saturday, August 26th.
