Stop to Italian sport could cost €60bn and 3.8% of country GDP
Italian LBA is projected to be one of the most affected leagues.
According to a study published by Corriere dello Sport, the cancelling of all Italian sports seasons suspended due to Coronavirus could result in a loss of €60bn and the 3.8% of the country’s GDP, with over 14 millions people affected directly or indirectly country-wide.
One of the most affected leagues is projected to be basketball LBA, for which a loss between €38 and €40M is forecasted in relation to a total revenue of €110M.
