Spurs Exercise 25-26 Options For Victor Wembanyama

The San Antonio Spurs have exercised 2025-26 rookie scale team options for Victor Wembanyama, Jeremy Sochan, Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley. This is the third-year option for Wembanyama and the fourth-year options for Sochan, Branham and Wesley.

Teams have until October 31 to pick up rookie scale options for next season.

Wembanyama enters his second season with high expectations. After a terrific all-around rookie season, many are predicting stardom for Wembanyama in Year 2.

Sochan was moved back to the forward position, following the Spurs experimenting with him at point guard early last season. The move back to his natural position seemed to get Sochan back on track.

Branham and Wesley haven’t played big roles in their first two seasons, but will have opportunities this year. Devin Vassell is expected to miss the beginning of the season while recovering from offseason surgery. Branham and Wesley are two of the options to fill in for Vassell when the season opens next week.
