Scariolo’s words: “I was lucky to coach him. I saw him in so many games, he never gave up, he never gave in to the physical shortcomings he had basically with the three position with any opponent he faced during his career. He was so competitive, he was so committed to the team. It didn’t matter what his health was or what his personal situation was. He was always there. He is a great example for players around the world because not everyone can have the jumping ability, the skills, the talent or the size, but everyone should try. They should try to look at this example and see that there is some kind of space to compensate for different burdens or currents with superior mental and emotional effort”.
