Shanghai Sharks are seriously pursuing Donatas Motiejunas and ready to offer him a millionaire contract for next season, a source told Sportando.
The deal could be finalized after July 15, when Motiejunas’former team, Shandong, has to decide whether to make him “restricted free agent” in CBA.
If Shandong want to keep Motiejunas, they are then obliged to increase his salary by 10% (the Lithuanian made around $3 million last season).
Motiejunas has played for Shandong the past two years averaging, in 2018-2019, 27.3 pointes, 14 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
He finished the season with the San Antonio Spurs scoring 6 points in three games.
