Smart leaves Texas after the upset by Abilene Christian

Shaka Smart has been hired as Marquette’s new head basketball coach, the Golden Eagles announced.

Smart has coached the Texas Longhorns for the past six seasons, going to three NCAA tournaments. They were recently upset by Abilene Christian in the March Madness.
