Isaiah Thomas’ 10-day contract with Dallas expires before the Mavericks’ next game Sunday and Thomas’ brief Mavs stint will then come to an end, reports Marc Stein.

Thomas could only play in one game as a Maverick before he had to enter the league’s health and safety protocols.

According to Tim MacMahon of Espn, the Dallas Mavericks have decided to keep 22-year-old big man Moses Brown, whose contract worth about 1.7 million becomes guaranteed today.

The UCLA product has averaged 3.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 22 games.

Magic sign Admiral Schofield to Two-Way contract, waive Mychal Mulder

The Orlando Magic have signed forward Admiral Schofield to a two-way contract.

The Tennessee product has averaged 4.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in the 9 games played with the Magic.

In addition, the Magic have waived two-way guard Mychal Mulder.

Norvel Pelle to join Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have reached an agreement with Norvel Pelle, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Pelle, who will sign a ten-day hardship deal, was playing in the G League with Cleveland Charge (8.9 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.1 bpg in 22 minutes x game).

The big man should play in tonight’s game against the Raptors.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, 4 San Antonio Spurs players (Keldon Johnson, Derrick White, Thaddeus Young and Devin Vassell) have entered the NBA anti-Covid protocol.
With Doug McDermott and Lonnie Walker already out for the same reason, the team decided to sign forward Anthony Lamb to a 10 day hardship contract.

The Vermont product, 24 games at the Rockets as a rookie last year , was playing in the G League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (15 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.8 apg, 41% from long range).

Tyler Johnson reportedly joining Spurs

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the San Antonio Spurs have reached an agreement with Tyler Johnson on a 10-day contract.

The Fresno State averaged 5.4 points and 2 rebounds per game for the Brooklyn Nets last season.

Lakers Sign Stanley Johnson to 10-Day Contract

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed forward Stanley Johnson to a 10-day contract, it was announced today by Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka.

Johnson has averaged 6.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steal in 25.2 minutes through five games (three starts) with Los Angeles this season. He has appeared in 376 career games (80 starts) for the Raptors, Pelicans, Pistons and Lakers, averaging 6.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 19.8 minutes.

The Los Angeles Lakers have “showed some covert interest” in pursuing a Russell Westbrook trade with rival teams, sources tell Sam Amick of The Athletic.

A trade of Westbrook is considered extremely unlikely before the Feb. 15th trade deadline.

There seems to be some recognition within the Lakers that their trade for Westbrook hasn’t been as successful as they had hoped.

Westbrook has a $47 million player option for the 22-23 season.

Thunder reportedly waiving Gabriel Deck to complete trade

The Argentine forward failed to make his way through the Thunder rotation, having played just 55 minutes in 7 games this season.

It will be interesting to see if the former Real Madrid continues to pursue his NBA dream or accepts the likely offers that will come from the Euroleague.
