France beats Team USA 89-79 in the FIBA World Cup Quarter-Finals.
It’s France’s first-ever World Cup win over Team USA.
Rudy Gobert was the MVP with a dominating performance on both ends of the floor. The big man ended the game with 21 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assist and 3 blocks, shooting 6/12 from the field and 9/10 from the foul line.
Evan Fournier scored 21 points plus 4 assist, Nando De Colo ended with 18 points shooting 4/6 from the field and 9/10 from the foul line.
For Team USA is the first loss after 58 official games. Donovan Mitchell (NBA teammate of Rudy Gobert) was the top scorer with 29 points, plus 6 rebounds, 4 assist and 2 steals, while Marcus Smart added 11 points, 2 assist and 2 steals.
France will play against the winner of Australia-Czech Republic.
