Real Madrid scores 111 points, beats Valencia

Facu Campazzo set a club record with 17 assists to lead Real Madrid to its seventh consecutive win by downing Valencia Basket 111-99 in the Spanish capital on Thursday. Real improved to 9-3 in the standings while Valencia dropped to 4-8. Thanks to Campazzo’s generostiy, five different Real players scored in double figures: Anthony Randolph led the way with 18 points, Trey Thompkins added 14, Jaycee Carroll and Edy Tavares each had 12 and Jordan Mickey 10. Jordan Loyd led Valencia with 21 points, Mike Tobey added 20 and Bojan Dubljevic had 17 for the visitors. Randolph struck three times from downtown and Causeur added two more from beyond the arc to help Real get a 30-29 lead after a high-scoring first quarter. Randolph, Jeffery Taylor and Rudy Fernandez each hit a triple, but Aaron Doornekamp and Tobey kept Valencia within 53-49 at halftime. Campazzo took over after the break, finding good shots for all of his teammates in helping Real boost its margin to 74-64 late in the third quarter. Real kept an 80-70 margin after 30 minutes and quickly extended it to 87-70 behind an unstoppable Carroll to get full control of the game until the final buzzer.
