Zalgiris received confirmation on a case of COVID-19, as forward Niels Giffey tested positive.
Having taken a PGR test on Thursday, the results were inconclusive, and the laboratory recommended to take a repeat test. After a second test, a positive result came back.
Giffey was isolated from the team and will miss tonight’s game against Fenerbahce. Other Zalgiris players’ tests came back negative.
According to EuroLeague’s COVID-19 safety protocols, confirmed by respective Lithuanian institutions, vaccinated team members who receive a negative test result do not need to isolate.
