Partizan Belgrade, Lundberg: “When Obradovic calls you, there is no thinking. I am happy to be here”

Iffe Lundberg gave his first interview as a Partizan Belgrade player: these are his statements.

Iffe Lundberg gave his first interview to Mozzart Sport as a player of Partizan Belgrade. These are the statements of the former Virtus Bologna player.

About playing for Partizan: “I am excited. I will be part of a new project, a new team is being built. I could not miss the opportunity to play in Belgrade: every time I played against Partizan it was incredible. I always told myself that one day I would like to play here, and I am happy that this wish came true. I am on a legendary team, with a legendary coach and a fan base that is all over Europe. I really imagined playing in front of those fans one day”.

On Obradovic’s call and his role: “Coach Obradovic called me, I think he was probing the ground for me to come to Belgrade. It was a nice conversation, not too long. He asked me if I was interested in joining Partizan, I told him I was and we quickly agreed. When a coach like Obradovic calls you, there is nothing to think about…. He is the coach with the most trophies in the history of the EuroLeague. I haven’t talked about my role in the team or the minutes I’ll play, I don’t think that’s something you have to ask when you talk to Obradovic: I can be a starter, how I can come off the bench, I think I can help the team in different ways”.

If he talked to anyone about what lies ahead: “I talked to Jaleen Smith, I have a very good relationship with him because I played with him in Virtus Bologna. He told me about the team, the coach, the club, the derby with Red Star ….. I got some good feedback. I can’t wait to see for myself what it means to play the derby in Belgrade”.
