Panathinaikos keeps the party going: Coach Ergin Ataman also wins the Greek championship, taking Game 5 at OAKA against Olympiacos.
Panathinaikos continues to celebrate: after winning the EuroLeague, coach Ergin Ataman’s team managed to take home the Greek championship as well, winning a beautiful and very close Race 5 against Olympiacos at the OAKA. The final score of 87-82 came after a thrilling finish: Panathinaikos was up +6 with 1:36 left, but baskets by Papanikolaou and McKissic brought Olympiacos back to -1. In the final, first Mitoglou and then Nunn did not miss from the line, Williams-Goss committed a 5-second violation and Grigonis hit the free throws to make it +5.
Panathinaikos got 29 points from the magnificent Kostas Sloukas (25 in the first 12 minutes), 15 from the great Jerian Grant and 13 with 5 assists from Kendrick Nunn.
Olympiacos did not need Peters’ 21 points, Papanikolaou’s 18 and Milutinov’s 17 with 12 rebounds.
