Marius Grigonis, guard-forward of Panathinaikos Aktor, will undergo surgery on Wednesday, December 11, in Athens to address a disc issue in his back, according to SDNA.
The Lithuanian player has been sidelined since October 17, when he last played in the EuroLeague against Real Madrid.
Initially, a conservative treatment approach was tried after examinations in Munich, but the pain persisted. Following an attempt to return to training, Grigonis experienced renewed discomfort, leading to the decision for surgery.
Recovery time remains unknown, but he is expected to miss several upcoming games.
