Panathinaikos complain to EuroLeague about Fenerbahce fans’ actions
Panathinaikos have lodged an official complaint with the EuroLeague over the behaviour of Fenerbahce supporters.
Panathinaikos defeated Fenerbahce in Istanbul in EuroLeague Round 5. Nevertheless, the Greek club lodged an official complain with the EuroLeague over the behaviour of the Turkish fans. In fact, a Northern Cyprus flag was displayed, which angered the Greeks. The reason? The island of Cyprus has long been divided into two parts: a Greek-speaking south and a Turkish-speaking north. Northern Cyprus has declared its independence, but only Turkey recognises it.
