Olympiacos secured a commanding 76-57 victory over Olimpia Milano, handing the Italian side their second EuroLeague loss. Despite missing three key players, Olympiacos showed no signs of weakness, controlling the game from the start and neutralizing Milano’s offense, particularly under the basket.

The Greek team raced to an early lead, finishing the first quarter 26-12, and never looked back. Olympiacos was led by an impressive performance from Nigel Hayes-Davis, who posted 20 points and 8 rebounds. Milanese attempts to fight back were short-lived, as the home side consistently maintained a double-digit lead, even in the face of brief surges from Milano in the second and third quarters.

For Milano, the game highlighted several offensive struggles. Despite some solid play from Diop, who scored 10 points and grabbed key rebounds, and Ricci, who contributed 13 points, the Italian team lacked contributions from star players like Shields and Mirotic, who were unable to provide the expected leadership on the offensive end. Milano’s guards, Dimitrijevic and Bolmaro, also struggled to find their rhythm, failing to make a significant impact throughout the game.

Olympiacos, however, displayed great defensive intensity, forcing numerous turnovers and limiting Milano to just 57 points. In addition to Hayes-Davis, contributions came from Hall with 10 points, while Vezenkov controlled the paint, helping Olympiacos to a significant advantage in rebounds and points in the paint.

Despite a strong push from Milano in the third quarter, where Ricci hit several key shots to bring the deficit down to single digits, Olympiacos responded with timely shooting and clutch free throws to extend their lead once more. The Greek side showcased superior ball movement, finishing with 12 assists, and controlled the boards with 20 rebounds.

Milano, now with two losses in a row, will need to regroup and find solutions for their offensive woes. Coach Messina will look to address the team’s turnover issues and inconsistency, particularly with key players like Mirotic and Shields needing to step up in future games.

Olympiacos, meanwhile, continues to prove they are a top contender in the EuroLeague, demonstrating resilience and depth even in the absence of several key players.
