NBA considering to cap the 19-20 Regular Season at 70 games
The potential solutions are “fluid,” a source said.
The NBA is considering shortening the 19-20 regular season to 70 games with play resuming in July, as reported by Dallasbasketball.com’s Mike Fisher. Teams have played approximately 65 games apiece before the season was suspended.
Playing an additional 5 regular season games would give playoff contenders an opportunity to play for seeding, while lottery teams would also participate. If the pandemic doesn’t allow the NBA to resume games in July, a relaunch in August is a possibility which would see the season going straight into the playoffs.
