Monaco faces a major setback ahead of their EuroLeague opener against Olimpia Milano, with Nick Calathes sidelined for 3-4 weeks due to a knee injury. The principality club confirmed yesterday, following their victory over Strasbourg in the French league, that Calathes had been rested by coach Sasa Obradovic. Mike James, the team’s star player, was also absent but is expected to return for Thursday’s EuroLeague debut.

“Nick Calathes was not included in the roster as he was rested by Sasa Obradovic, as was the team’s star, Mike James. Both are expected to feature on Thursday against Milano in the EuroLeague opener,” the club’s statement read.

While Calathes is now ruled out due to injury, there has been no further update on James, leaving hope for his return in time for the crucial match against Milano.
