The Milwaukee Bucks are considering several trade combinations that could involve veteran wing Pat Connaughton and reserve guard Cameron Payne to bolster their defensive rotation.
The Bucks, with the combined salaries of $12.5 million for Connaughton and Payne, are in position to acquire several trade targets, including Portland wing Matisse Thybulle and Clippers wing P.J. Tucker.
An ideal target for the Bucks would be Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls, but according to league sources, the Bulls would require multiple first-round picks to consider a trade.
More ambitious targets include Dejounte Murray and Bruce Brown Jr. In order to be within the salary range required to acquire one of these players, the Bucks would have to include Bobby Portis and his $11.7 million salary.
Milwaukee is evaluating the players available on the market, the asking prices of their teams, and how these players would fit alongside Antetokounmpo and Lillard.
