In the first quarter of Game 4, the Milwaukee Bucks, already without key players, were made even more difficult with the ejection of Bobby Portis Jr.
The player was ejected after picking up two technical fouls on the same play. Portis and Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard collided while battling for a rebound, sparking a brief scuffle that required a stoppage of play for video review.
Both players received technicals for the initial shove, but Portis received a second technical for hitting Nembhard in the head, which the referees deemed a hostile act.
The Bucks were already without Giannis Antetokounmpo, out since 9 April with a left calf injury, and Damian Lillard, who injured his right Achilles tendon in Friday night’s game against the Pacers.
A total of five technical fouls were called in the first 6:59 of the game. Indiana leads the best-of-seven series 3-1.
