Messina: I would have liked more clarity from Euroleague
Euroleague has suspended the participation of Russian Federation teams in both the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague (CSKA Moscow, UNICS Kazan, Zenit St Petersburg) and the 7DAYS EuroCup (Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar).
Olimpia Milano coach Ettore Messina spoke with Sky Sport about the measures decided by Euroleague on the war in Ukraine:

“I would have liked more clarity from the Euroleague, it’s a bit like Pontius Pilate, let’s suspend everything until 21, and then let’s see. This is something that helps the competition, but it is not a stance against what is happening, which is shameful (the reference is to the war event)”
"Furthermore, we are in a situation, in which the Russian teams themselves, see CSKA, have already begun to free players. So it seems to me a demonstration that they are the first not to believe they can finish the season. Having said that, it is obvious that I am sorry that, for what is happening, for a conflict that does not make sense, there have been players, coaches and clubs that are out of such a beautiful competition as the Euroleague, “he said.
