The Memphis Grizzlies have submitted a request to the NBA for a Disabled Player Exception worth $12.4 million for Ja Morant, as reported by ESPN.
The team provided a medical update on Morant in recent days, announcing that during Saturday’s practice session, the player had suffered a subluxation in his right shoulder. An MRI later revealed an injury.
As a result, Morant will have to undergo surgery that will end his season, but is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.
