Melbourne United:12 players tested positive for COVID-19.

South East Melbourne Phoenix players and staff also remain in isolation and are undergoing testing

Both Melbourne NBL teams will remain in lockdown after Melbourne United players returned further positive tests for COVID-19.

A total of 12 players have now tested positive after Melbourne United training was suspended last week and players and staff went into a 14 day isolation period.

South East Melbourne Phoenix players and staff also remain in isolation and are undergoing testing. There will be no further training for either club until further notice.

Hungry Jack’s NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said: "Our primary concern is the health and welfare of our players, staff and their families. This is a challenging time for everyone concerned and we are working closely with the clubs and the Australian Basketball Players’ Association (ABPA) to provide support for all those affected.

"We are also working closely with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to manage the outbreak and limit any risk to the wider community."
