Gobert in December 2020 agreed to a five-year, 205 million contract extension with Utah

The playoffs that will start soon will be a fundamental crossroads for some NBA teams, including the Utah Jazz.

The team led by coach Snyder has so far failed to reap the benefits of the excellent work done in the regular season, and around the league there is a feeling that they will try to start again with a new group in case of another early exit in the postseason.

The first candidate to leave could be Rudy Gobert, because of the rumors about a less than idyllic relationship with Donovan Mitchell, but also because of a 41 million per year contract until 2026.

During The Lowe Podcast Tim MacMahon of ESPN explains that the Mavs would be ready to target the French big man ‘very aggressively’ if the Jazz decide to trade him. The reporter also adds that Gobert would prefer to stay in Salt Lake City, but he would be very happy to play with Slovenian star Luka Doncic.

Gobert is producing 15.4 points, 14.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in his ninth season with the Jazz.
