Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv is proud to announce the signing of Nate Wolters (28, 1.93 m) on a two-year contract. The guard played for Zlagiris Kaunas in the past season, with whom he reached the Euroleague playoffs. In 28 games he averaged 22 minutes, scored 11 points and added 3.8 assists per game.

Wolters’ record game was at the beginning of the season against Fenerbahce, when he scored 23 points with 4 from 7 behind the arc. In the playoffs vs the Turks, the guard played 21 minutes, scored 13 points and delivered more than 2 assists per game.

Nate Wolters was picked 38th in the 2013 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards. His debut season in the best league in the world was also one of the best seasons in Maccabi history, the treble season of 2013/14. The guard played for Milwaukee and in 58 games averaged 7.2 points per game. He also started the following season with the Bucks and moved to the New Orleans during the season.

Wolters also played in Turkish Besiktas, Red Star Belgrade from Serbia, five games for Utah Jazz and also French Chalon. Last year, as noted, he landed in the Saras’ team and had an excellent season. In the final of the Lithuanian league Zalgiris had a 3:0 win over Rittas Vilnius, when Walters averaged just over 9 points in 17 minutes on the floor. He handed 8 assists in the championship game on June 1.

Nate Wolters will co-operate on the back line of Maccabi with Scottie Wilbekin, John Dibartolomeu, Yovel zoosman and Deni Avdija, who are already signed for the upcoming season.

“I can not wait for the moment when I play in Maccabi Tel Aviv”, Said Wolters after signing to “I have only heard great things about the organization and about the fact that there are some of the best fans in the world. I know we will have a great season and excited to get the season started!”.

Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos told the official website: “After the end of the season, I spoke with the management and the team and decided to cooperate with Nate Wolters, who is able to bring us more strength and help us more in defense and in scoring. Despite the fact that many teams wanted him, Maccabi managed to sign a good player in order to add him to our wonderful team of players and give us extra strength”.
