Luca Banchi has stepped down as head coach of Virtus Bologna. According to TRC and Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach submitted his resignation last night, informing the team shortly before the post-game press conference following the match against Alba.
The club’s management is expected to meet today to determine the next steps. Two Serbian candidates have emerged as potential replacements: Sasha Djordjevic, who led Virtus to the 2021 title, and Sasa Obradovic, the former coach of Monaco.
TRC reports that Sasa Obradovic is the frontrunner to take over the position.
