Here’s Kyle Hines’ farewell letter to Olimpia Milano. Shortly before announcing his retirement, the centre also bid farewell to the red and white colours. Or rather, goodbye.

First things First ❤️

Milano,

I guess the time is now. As the new season starts, it’s time for us to end our chapter together.

Thank you for the past four years we have spent together. You have made me and my family feel at home from the beginning. It’s hard for me to put into words what you all mean to me and the gratitude I have for everyone there.

The last couple months have given me an opportunity to reflect on all the great times we spend together. Celebrating a Euroleague Final Four. Winning back to back Italian Cup Titles And going against the odds and winning the Italian championship 3 time in a row.

Thank you for the love, admiration and support you have shown me these past 4 years. We all fought hard to make Olimpia Milano a team and club that the city and all the fans could be proud of all across Europe.

Thank you to Mr. Armani, Mr Dell’Orco and the Armani Group for given me the opportunity to represent your club.

Thank you to Coach Messina and the coaching staff for the chance to learn, grow and build with you all everyday.

Thank you to Christos and the rest of the front office staff.

Thank you to everyone in the office who does all the work behind the scenes that goes unnoticed.

Pippo, Gianmarco and Andrea thank you for countless work making sure we were able to live as comfortable as possible in Milan.

Thank you to the Forum Staff for always accommodating my family during games and events my

The Physio and Performance Staff thank you guys for always helping in preparing me to be able to be my best on the court even at my old age. "Ale keep my table reserved"

To everyone I meant along my way while living in Milano, in restaurants, at the grocery store or in the park or just out in and about in the city with my family , thank you all. It was always love. You all have had an important part in our lives in making Milano for more like home.

To my teammates, hell of a ride we had together. We are forever bonded no matter what!!

Even though this chapter is closing, I’m sure there will be an opportunity in the future to start another chapter in Milano.

No matter what Milano will always be in my hearts

Sir 42
