Kings coach Mike Brown: “Domantas Sabonis should be in the MVP discussions”

Sabonis is scoring 19.8 points with 13.7 rebounds (1st NBA) and 8.3 assists (6th) per game

Last night Domantas Sabonis set a new record in the modern NBA era (since 1976) with 54 consecutive double-doubles.

In addition, Sabonis became the fifth player in NBA history to record more than 25 triple-doubles in a single season, joining:

Russell Westbrook (16-17, 17-18, 18-19, 20-21)

Oscar Robertson (60-61, 61-62, 63-64)

Wilt Chamberlain (67-68)

Nikola Jokic (22-23)

Coach Mike Brown praised the Lithuanian big man’s incredible season immediately after the Kings’ win against the 76ers:

"Shout out to Domas. What a job," Kings coach Mike Brown said. "What a phenomenal, phenomenal year he’s having. Obviously, he should have been an All-Star. Obviously, he should be talked about for first, second, third All-NBA. And he should be in the MVP discussions with the way that he’s playing.”

Sabonis is scoring 19.8 points with 13.7 rebounds (1st NBA) and 8.3 assists (6th) per game, shooting 61 percent from the field and 71 percent from the foul line.
