Kenny Payne, a veteran college and NBA coach with seventeen years of coaching experience and a former Cardinal basketball great, has been named the new head men’s basketball coach at the University of Louisville, Interim Director of Athletics Josh Heird announced today.
Payne’s contract with the Cardinals will be for six years, extending through the 2027-28 season. The University of Louisville Athletic Association Board of Directors approved the terms of his contract this morning.
